I’m not some hardcore scenester extremist. I’m not obsessed with any fandom to the point of going around wearing said clothing and talking to the said characters if they were actually there. I’m not the world’s biggest fan of anything anywhere. I don’t have a job. Sometimes I’m sad, and sometimes I’m happy. I’m not overly conformist, or overly non-conformist. I am a person, a human being. I am me. I am myself. And I don’t really care if that’s good enough for you or not, because my life’s goal is not to please you. I love Harry Potter. And I don’t care if you’re a bigger/greater/more impressive fan than I am. I am perfectly content with my own level of obsession. I am also a fan of (insert criticized pop-punk band name here) and I don’t care if you like them or not. I don’t care if you were a fan ever since they played in your driveway during your freshman year of high school, and I don’t care if you just heard about them last week and became an instant fan. I’m not ashamed to like pop-punk or emo or ska or hardcore or country or pop. I don’t think MTV is the devil, but that doesn’t mean I watch it. I’m not ashamed that I like to learn and that sometimes I actually like being at school. I’m not ashamed that my dad has to go with me to concerts even though I’m going to be a senior this year because at least I get to go. I don’t care if you approve of my CD collection or my concert history or the TV I watch everyday or the graphics I make. And I’m tired of feeling not good enough for you people. I’m tired of feeling like I owe you something, because the fact is that I don’t. So stop picking on me. Leave me alone! I don’t care! Get lost! Fuck off! And don’t come back unless you actually have something worth saying. Because I am so not interested.
